Our client is a Penticton based manufacturer, serving clients across North America. They are fully equipped with state-of-the-art in-house tooling, CNC machinery, and engineering technology, enabling them to provide end-to-end manufacturing services, from concept design to fabrication, welding, painting, assembly, and testing. Their welding capabilities include carbon, stainless steel, and aluminum, with CSA W47.1 (fusion welding of steel) and W47.2 (fusion welding of aluminum) certifications. Dedicated departments for carbon and stainless-steel support highly specialized fabrication and installation projects.
Our client is currently looking to add experienced Steel Fabricator to their team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to producing high-quality, safe work in a collaborative shop environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform custom fabrication and welding according to schematics and blueprints;
- Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy;
- Weld using flux-core, metal-core, and hardwire techniques;
- Operate overhead cranes, cutting torches, and other manual, semi-automated, or automated welding tools;
- Maintain a clean and organized work area daily;
- Participate in installations and on-site work as required;
- Support other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Journeyman Metal Fabricator or Welder with 5+ years of experience in fabrication, welding, and troubleshooting;
- CWB-certified in FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW, holding valid welding certification;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in metal finishing with high attention to detail;
- Strong focus on quality assurance and workplace safety;
- Ability to read and interpret welding and schematic blueprints;
- Proficient with manual and automated welding equipment;
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
Our client offers a competitive total compensation package, including an hourly wage of $30–$35, comprehensive health and dental coverage, boot and PPE allowances, First Aid and afternoon shift premiums, and overtime opportunities when available. The company operates on two shifts: a day shift from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and an afternoon shift from Monday to Thursday, 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM.
