Legal Assistant – Real Estate Law

Location: Calgary, Alberta | In-Office Position

A boutique law firm in Calgary, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support their thriving real estate practice.

If you enjoy being hands-on in real estate transactions, thrive in a small firm environment, and take pride in delivering accurate, organized, and client-first service, this role is for you.

About the Role

This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse and interesting real estate files, including:

  • Residential and commercial sales and purchases

  • Refinancing

  • Construction mortgages

  • Private transactions
    (Experience with commercial mortgage transactions is an asset.)

What You'll Do
  • Manage real estate transactions end-to-end: from file opening to closing and final reporting.

  • Prepare, review, and process legal documentation in Unity and SPIN2.

  • Liaise professionally with clients, realtors, lenders, and other key parties.

  • Conduct Land Title searches, review encumbrances, and ensure legal accuracy.

  • Draft clear and timely reporting letters for clients and financial institutions.

  • Maintain organization across a high volume of files, meeting deadlines without compromising quality.

  • Safeguard sensitive information and uphold the highest standards of professional confidentiality.

  • Handle general administrative and file management duties to keep the office running smoothly.

What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 3 years of real estate legal assistant experience in Alberta.

  • Proven proficiency with Unity, SPIN2, Land Titles, MS Office (Word, Outlook), Adobe, and other conveyancing tools.

  • In-depth knowledge of Alberta's real estate conveyancing procedures and legal terminology.

  • Exceptional organization, time management, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while being a collaborative team player.

  • Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and client care.

  • Experience with e-signature platforms and digital document management is an asset.
