POSITION OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the director of operations, the Automation Specialist with provide professional programmer analysis, sound knowledge in the field of data communication, skilled in collecting facts, discovering problems as well as providing solutions to them, and able to work as a project leader as well as an effective team player.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• PLC CodeSys / TwinCat / SoMachine
• TwidoSuite-Soft / PCWorx etc...
• C++ OPC / Web / asapi dll – srf extension / SQL Server / Ajax / Java
• Devices: Schweitzer / Micro PIC's / various HMI interface
• Develop and deploy various software & programming solutions
• On Site service, installation, and support
• Program HMI/PLC which auto detects hardware configuration changes on startup.
• Created a system for autonomously controlling Dynamic Power Factor at several (10) 10MW Solar sites with e-house resident PLC's running a logic control loop that adjust Inverter settings dynamically to maintain the site PF within required PF specification limits
• Integration of external science weather station devices into EnerQuest e-house PLC collector
• Creating iHouse PLC logic which manages a system of switchable over-populated solar array strings, dynamically as determined by PLC's close monitoring Inverter voltage and current conditions
• C/C++, VB, ALT, STL, type libs, MSSQL, ADO,
• OPC Toolkits Servers & Clients, winsock TCP/IP telnet, Visual Sourcesafe
• ABB S3/S4 robotic controllers, Cognext an DVT Vision, Dallas I-Buttons, PLCs
• Phoenix Contact, various serial communication drivers

SKILLS:

• Performance management
• Trouble shooting and problem solving.
• Effective decision maker.
• Communication skills and experience providing training.
• Skills creating documentation and presentations – Effective written and oral reports
• 10+ years of in a related electrical, automation, programming field of study
