Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet, BC is hiring a Cook 2 to join our year-round culinary team.

Were looking for a skilled cook who thrives on the line, stays focused under pressure, and brings both precision and creativity to their work. As Cook 2, youll prepare and plate dishes with consistency, support the Chef and senior kitchen team, and help guide junior cooks while contributing to smooth daily operations.

This is a great fit for someone who:

• Has previous professional kitchen experience (3+ years preferred)
• Works well under pressure and maintains accuracy during busy service periods
• Has strong teamwork and communication skills
• Is eager to learn and open to feedback from senior chefs
• Has flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Is physically able to work in a high-paced environment and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Is interested in progressing toward Red Seal certification

In this role, you will:

• Prepare and plate dishes quickly and consistently, following established recipes and portion sizes
• Support and mentor Cook 1s and Kitchen Stewards while taking direction from the Chef and supervisory team
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards in your work area
• Properly label, store, and rotate food items to reduce waste
• Assist with inventory control, ordering, and food tracking as required
• Participate in daily prep lists and contribute to smooth kitchen operations
• Follow all resort policies, food safety, and workplace safety procedures
• Contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative kitchen culture
