We're looking for a Staff Engineer to lead the design of scalable, reliable backend services and the infrastructure to support rapid iteration across web and mobile. You'll play a key role in shaping our platform as we grow our in-app and web offerings.

As a Staff Engineer at Ritual you will

• Discover and solve complex technical problems that have company-wide impact while collaborating with a small but dedicated cross-functional team
• Work hands-on while producing high-quality maintainable code, drive engineering design and architecture decisions
• Contribute to the technical strategy and direction for broad or complex requirements
• Optimize and improve existing backend infrastructure for performance, reliability, and scalability
  

Were looking for a Staff Engineer that has

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience
• 8+ years of experience delivering high quality software and a passion for web technologies and improving infrastructure
• Significant professional experience with Java, Spring / Spring Boot, React/Redux
• Experience building APIs (Protocol buffers, RESTful, OpenAPI)
• Experience working with Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services
• Proficiency in MySQL or other relational databases
• Experience contributing to technical architecture discussions and technical decisions
• Strong communication skills - can explain complex technical concepts to stakeholders
