THE ROLE

STRIVE Recruitment is proud to partner with a highly successful and rapidly growing design-build construction and development organization that has been recognized as one of Canadas Top Growing Companies. This is a newly created Financial Analyst role for a growth-oriented professional who is excited to work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.

The Financial Analyst will report to the Head of Finance & Accounting and act as a Finance Business Partner, providing project-level financial services and insights to a diverse group of internal stakeholders, including pre-construction, development, construction, and multi-family divisions. The ideal Financial Analyst candidate will be comfortable navigating ambiguity, challenging the status quo, and creating innovative approaches to deliver strategic business partnering services.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver project-level business partnering services, including budget development, periodic forecasting, financial reporting, and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Identify project financial risks and opportunities, partnering with senior leaders to develop and monitor action plans that maximize profitability.
  • Collaborate with accounting and operational leaders to ensure timely and accurate approval of invoices, progress billing, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor and reconcile project results, receivables, payables, holdback accounts, and progress draw requests.
  • Track and transform site labour data into actionable insights for executive decision-making.
  • Maintain up-to-date cash flow projections for lender and equity-funded projects from pre-development through completion.
  • Oversee project lifecycle financial system administration, including vendor and customer creation, project cost coding, budget imports, and report design.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • CPA designation or CPA student in progress.
  • 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, public practice, or advisoryideally with exposure to real estate development or construction.
  • Experience in or with public practice firms (small to mid-sized preferred).
  • Solid knowledge of development accounting structures (JV, LP, GP).
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and strong analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
