The Host/Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, providing a warm and welcoming greeting, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth guest flow in the restaurant. This role requires excellent communication skills, a friendly personality, and the ability to stay organized during busy service periods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet and welcome guests promptly with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Manage the reservation system, take bookings by phone, email, or in person, and confirm reservations.
• Maintain an organized waitlist during peak periods and provide accurate wait time estimates.
• Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
• Communicate guest preferences or special requests to servers and managers.
• Assist in seating arrangements to maximize table turnover without compromising guest comfort.
• Answer the phone in a professional manner, providing accurate information about the restaurant, menu, and hours of operation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand and entry area.
• Support the service team by resetting tables when necessary.
• Ensure all guests feel welcomed, appreciated, and valued throughout their visit.
• Handle guest complaints or concerns politely, referring them to management when needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required; training provided.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Basic computer or POS knowledge for managing reservations.
• Positive attitude and team-oriented approach.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Light lifting (up to 15 lbs) as required.
