We are seeking a Construction Surveyor with experience in civil layout and concrete formwork to assist in the early phases of a ground-mounted solar installation in Pitt Meadows, BC. This is a ideal for a surveyor familiar with foundation layout, screw pile marking, and elevation control for concrete pads.
The role involves multiple visits over the initial stages of form work and concrete pour phase. On an ongoing bases we will require a construction surveyor to assist with the initial stages of various rooftop and ground mounted solar installations in BC.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Layout & Marking
Accurately mark out the layout of the concrete pad foundation based on provided engineering drawings.
Establish control points, elevation markers, and screw pile layout to guide formwork and rebar placement.
Verification
Confirm the accuracy of formwork and rebar positioning before concrete is poured.
Perform as-built checks and confirm dimensions and elevation tolerances.
Communication & Coordination
Coordinate directly with the site supervisor and project management team.
Provide layout drawings and field notes as required for documentation and reference.
Compliance & Safety
Adhere to all WorkSafeBC safety standards and on-site safety procedures.
Maintain safe work practices during use of surveying instruments and field movement.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in construction surveying, with at least 3 years in concrete, civil, or structural layout projects.
Proficient in the use of total stations, GNSS/GPS, and other layout tools.
Ability to interpret and work from civil, structural, and solar construction drawings.
Familiarity with concrete pad foundation work and anchor bolt/screw pile layouts.
Excellent attention to detail and layout accuracy.
Preferred (Assets):
Prior experience supporting renewable energy, solar, or infrastructure projects.
Certification in Occupational First Aid, Fall Protection, or WHMIS.
BC Land Surveyor in Training (LST) or Applied Science Technologist (AScT) designation.
