Volunteer Coordinator - Part Time Hourly ( 10-15 hours a week)
Reporting directly to the Human Resources Manager this position is part of the operations team and will be responsible for all aspects of developing, coordinating, and implementing volunteer services. The primary responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to; hosting volunteers, providing tours and activities for individuals and groups, community engagement, filtering and prioritizing volunteer applications, evaluating the needs for volunteers within various programs and activities and providing memorable experiences for the Dream Centres volunteers.

Responsibilities:
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, corporations, churches, sponsors, and donors.
Respond promptly and professionally to volunteer inquiries, whether via email or phone calls, providing clear information about available opportunities and expectations.
Recruit, select, and orient new volunteers for a variety of opportunities at the Dream Centre, ensuring a smooth onboarding experience.
Provide ongoing support, training, and assistance to volunteers, offering appropriate training for all volunteer positions.
Meet with individuals and corporations interested in partnering with the Dream Centre, fostering strong, lasting relationships.
Develop and implement initiatives to foster positive volunteer relationships, ensuring a dynamic and engaging volunteer experience.
Coordinate volunteer involvement in events, programs, and community outreach efforts organized by the Dream Centre.
Follow up with volunteers to gather feedback regarding their experience and identify areas for continuous improvement in volunteer programs.
Collaborate with staff across departments to assess and meet volunteer needs, ensuring that all areas are adequately supported.
Maintain volunteer position descriptions, schedules, and create volunteer brochures and informational packages.
Provide public information on volunteer opportunities and engage in community efforts to recruit volunteers.
Ensure the Dream Centres website is up-to-date with current volunteer updates and information, collaborating with Anthem for ongoing website needs.
Solicit and coordinate presentations for prospective partnerships with local organizations and churches, enhancing community engagement.
Recruit and organize groups of volunteers to support fundraising and client events, ensuring adequate volunteer support.
Maintain and track volunteer hours, providing weekly reports to the team.
Host students from partner universities, enriching their learning experience through hands-on volunteering opportunities.
Work collaboratively with Programs and Operations to implement and oversee Therapeutic Community Weekly Service Hours and schedule.
Liaise with courts to facilitate placement and sign off on Community Service and Fine Options hours.
Ensure flexibility in your schedule to accommodate volunteering activities that may take place during work hours or weekends.
Other duties as assigned.
EXPERINECE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
1-2 years of experience in a non-profit or community-based setting
Knowledge of volunteer engagement best practices
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of community volunteer resources and related volunteer programs
Good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels and to a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and lifestyles
Self-starter with excellent organizational skills, including strong problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
Ability to coordinate a volunteer program, direct and motivate a large and diverse number of individuals
Ability to orient, train, assign, monitor and evaluate a staff of volunteers
Ability to work effectively with people, service groups, relevant boards and committees, and others
Knowledge in preparing reports, and have database management capabilities
Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and be self-motivated
Demonstrate attention to detail and a commitment to excellence and high standards
