As an Investor Relations Associate at JD Development Group, you will bridge North American real estate opportunities with global capital, serving as a critical link to Mandarin-speaking investors and financial partners. This role combines real estate finance expertise, cross-cultural communication, and investor strategy to secure funding, steward relationships, and drive our mission of "A Different Way of Living."
Key Responsibilities1. Capital Strategy & Investor EngagementLead Mandarin-English investor communications, including pitch materials, financial reports, and presentations tailored to cross-border investors.
Drive capital-raising initiatives targeting Mandarin-speaking HNWIs, family offices, and institutional investors.
Articulate JD's investment thesis in meetings, roadshows, and conferences (both in English and Mandarin).
Manage due diligence processes, acting as the liaison between Mandarin-speaking investors and internal teams (legal, finance, development).
Underwrite development projects, analyzing financial models (DCF, IRR) and presenting key metrics to Mandarin-speaking investors.
Structure cross-border investments, navigating regulatory considerations (e.g., Canadian tax implications for foreign investors).
Monitor portfolio performance, preparing bilingual summaries of risks/opportunities.
Produce bilingual research on North American real estate trends, translating insights for Mandarin-speaking investors.
Develop investor dashboards with key performance metrics (in both English and Mandarin).
Advise leadership on capital flow trends between China and Canada.
Collaborate with Legal on compliance.
Liaise with Mandarin-speaking lenders.
Support fund structuring.
Fluent in Mandarin & English (written and spoken; Cantonese a plus).
Education: Bachelor's in Finance, Real Estate, or Business; CFA/MBA/CPA candidates preferred.
Experience: 5+ years in real estate investor relations, private equity, or cross-border investment, with underwriting exposure.
Advanced Excel (DCF, Argus) and PowerPoint (investor-grade decks).
Knowledge of CMHC financing, Ontario real estate regulations, and ESG frameworks.
Existing network with Mandarin-speaking investors or lenders.
Understanding of Chinese capital markets and investment preferences.
