Department: BGC Albion
Type: Part time, Non Union, Contract (15 hours per week)
Wage: $17.20/hourly + P.E
Contract Period: September 2, 2025-June 26, 2026
Hours: 3pm-6pm Monday-Friday

Position Summary:
The BGC Albion Club after school snack program worker will assist in the planning and implementation of after school program activities, trips and events for children and youth ages between 4-12 years old who live in north Etobicoke.

Responsibilities
1. Program Implementation:
Develop and deliver age-appropriate activities for afterschool participants as per the funders requirement
Participate in the delivery of three main components of the afterschool programs
1. Homework/Arts Crafts
2. Snack preparation/Nutritional activities
3. Sports and physical activities
Supervision of participants at after school programs
Assist in establishing a positive, creative, emotionally and intellectually stimulating environment within the BGC Albion programs
Assist in teaching and model to children appropriate social interactions and problem-solving skills
Maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment
Assist in maintaining program supplies
Able to work evening shifts

2. Staff and Team Maintenance
Report any difficulties/challenges and emergencies to the Site Lead/Coordinator in a timely manner
Work cooperatively with other members of the team in the planning and delivery of activities, events and trips
Identify training needs
Attend all team and staff meetings

3. Administration
Assist in recording and maintaining all participant information in Kidtrax
Maintain the attendance records and all relevant information on site
Record, maintain and submit incident reports as required
Submit timesheets on time

4. Snack Preparation and Nutritional Activities
Plan, prepare and assist in the daily operation of the snack program
Daily assist with the setting up and clean-up of the site every day
Assist with the preparation and serving of snack
Assist with ensuring the maintenance, cleanliness and safety of equipment
Comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, food hygiene, health, safety and security, administration and confidentiality, reporting all incidents/concerns to the Program Manager

5. Meetings
Attend and actively participate in the following; BGC staff meetings and any other special event meetings

Qualifications:
Must have basic knowledge of Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, First Aid, Lifting and Handling and Fire Prevention
Must follow the Canada Food Guidelines in preparation of menu
Must be located in or around the M9V postal code
Experience delivering nutrition, food preparation program involving children and youth
Experience working/ volunteering with culturally diverse children
Experience with supervision of children and youth
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal English)
Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills

Requirements:
Proof of police clearance (clear police check is required)
Current Emergency First Aid Certificate
VHMIS Training/ Certification
Food Handling Certificate
