Position: AZ/DZ Driver

Location: Pembroke, Ontario

Shift Time: Early morning starts between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM (Monday to Friday) — Weekends as required

Pay Rate: Starting pay is $23–$25 per hour (depending on experience)

One of our clients is currently seeking a Full-Time AZ or DZ Driver to join their team in Pembroke. This position involves daily deliveries to Ottawa and surrounding areas, with occasional runs to Sudbury or Richmond Hill as required.

Drivers can expect numerous stops per shift, with some lifting and loading involved. The successful candidate will operate a straight or articulated truck to haul reinforcing steel and other materials to customer sites throughout Ontario.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials

• Haul reinforcing steel on a flat-bed trailer

• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, and brakes

• Perform minor truck maintenance (e.g., adding oil, fueling)

• Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness

• Complete pre- and post-inspection of the vehicle daily

• Document all inspections to ensure equipment is maintained and in proper working order

• Shunt trailers and assist with loading and off-loading at company yards/sites

• Work in a variety of environments and weather conditions

• Follow all plant and company safety guidelines

Requirements:

• Valid AZ License with Air Brake (Z) endorsement

• Minimum 2-3 years of AZ driving experience

• Experience driving manual/standard transmission trucks is required (All company trucks are manual)

• Experience hauling steel is required

• Ability to start at 3:00 AM and work 10–14-hour shifts on Mondays and Tuesdays

• Clean Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) certificate

• Solid knowledge of safe driving practices

• Previous experience in industrial environments and/or machine operation is an asset
