The Senior Financial Analyst position will be a key member of the accounting team with responsibilities focusing on providing financial analysis for the mill senior management group regarding mill costs with specific emphasis on month end accruals, month end and corporate reporting, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting and ad-hoc analysis.
Responsibilities:
Ensure that the facilities operate in full compliance with all health, safety, and environmental laws and regulations ensuring all employees are held accountable for our safety and environmental systems.
Ensure company policies and values are implemented and maintained throughout the organization and all legal requirements are met.
Extract required information from available business systems, sharing appropriate cost, sales and profit information with key personnel.
Participate in the annual budget/quarterly forecast process, business plans (as required), forecasts, providing guidance and assistance to mill departments, preparation and analysis of working papers and schedules, handling budget/quarterly forecast inquiries and requests.
Ensure accuracy and integrity of accounting records.
Participate in the preparation of special assignments and analysis as initiated by the mill production managers and other operating department managers.
Support and ensure adherence to corporate and local policies and procedures.
Your Profile:
Minimum Bachelor of Commerce Degree majoring in accounting.
A CA, CMA or CGA accounting designation would be an asset.
Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle with proven experience working with key internal controls and system configuration to maintain best practices for financial reporting.
At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.
Excellent organizational skills including planning, prioritizing along with strong attention to details and problem-solving skills.
Proficient analytical skills required as well as a strong background in MS Office (advanced Excel skills would be an asset).
Compensation:
This is a salary position depending upon experience plus an annual bonus and relocation assistance.
