The Opportunity
We are looking for Prep Cooks to join our team. This role supports the expansion of our food services by assisting with ingredient preparation, meal packaging, transport, and service setup. If you enjoy kitchen work, teamwork, and want to make a hands-on difference in your community, wed love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients (chopping, portioning, etc.) and support cooking tasks under the direction of the cooks
- Package meals and transport food between kitchen and service sites
- Set up and support meal service in coordination with kitchen and program staff
- Maintain cleanliness and uphold food safety practices at all times
- Assist with inventory rotation and storage (e.g. FIFO)
- Support general kitchen operations as directed by the Food Service Manager
What You Bring
- Food Safe Level 1 (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience in a kitchen or food service setting preferred
- Basic food prep skills and knowledge of safe handling procedures
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Reliable, respectful, and team-oriented
- Comfortable serving vulnerable populations in a calm, compassionate manner
- Ability to lift and carry food trays or containers between buildings

Schedule
- Casual shifts as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
