Position Overview:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible and accountable for the operation of all Inland owned and operated assets by performing routine maintenance and repairs on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, pumps and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. In addition, this position will require all of the responsibilities of a Processing Operator (which will be to perform facility services on a case-by-case basis) and to ensure all other Processing Operators are compliant with Inland's policy of superior service and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
• Actively promote adherence to and hold site employees accountable for leading safety and regulatory compliance with all local, provincial and federal rules and regulations;
• Plan and carry out work assignments and handle problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training or accepted company practices and procedures;
• Set up parts supply relationships and accounts with equipment manufacturers;
• Maintain an inventory of all spare replacement parts and ensure that sufficient supplies are kept on hand at all times to minimize unnecessary equipment downtime;
• Coordinate with corporate manufacturing personnel through the Facility Supervisor in the proper maintenance of Inland owned concentrators and equipment;
Required Skills and Experience:
• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Minimum of 2 years experience performing mechanical/electrical maintenance;
• Proven knowledge and use of standard and specialty tools and specialized testing equipment (i.e. photo tachometer, diagnostics tools and hardware, scanners and meters);
• Knowledge of fluid types, diesel powered machines and tools including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance;
• Effective time management and organizational skills to manipulate multiple tasks and conflicting deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
• Ability to work independently showing good judgement;
• Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel);
• Ability to read, write, speak and communicate effectively;
• Ability to interpret documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals;
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent;
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

• Ability to remain calm and perform under pressure and within fixed time constraints;
• A valid driver's license is required for this position.
Work Environment:
• The Maintenance Technician will primarily work in an indoor plant environment. They will regularly be exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. There will be times when they will be required to work outside of their normal work schedule, so that we may meet the needs of our customers and/or operational requirements.
Physical Demands:
• It is expected that the candidate be physically fit and able to perform all operational requirements;
• Ability to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds regularly;
• Employees must have the ability to climb 15-foot heights for work;
• Position involves standing or sitting for extended periods of time as well as bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing, using hands to control tools and feel objects, reaching with hands and arms;
• Work outdoors for long periods when necessary;
• Ability to work in a confined space for extended periods of time;
• Wearing of personal protective equipment when required and full mobility allowing for freedom of movement in high-risk environment;
• Must be able to speak clearly and hear efficiently;
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus;
• May be required to move, connect, disconnect hoses and be able to operate industrial valves and perform general labor duties.
