Job Summary:

This role oversees the production employees, manages workflow, and enforces company standards within a fast-paced, high volume automotive parts manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management
- Supervise, coach, and mentor production team members to meet or exceed production targets.
- Ensure effective employee relations.
- Assign work, manage schedules, and ensure proper staffing levels.
- Makes employment decisions, including disciplinary action, selection and termination recommendations.
- Conduct daily shift start up meetings to review safety, quality, and production priorities.
- Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
- Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
- Creates a positive working environment.
- Maintain confidentiality in sensitive personnel situations.
- Plans and directs on the job training for all Team Members; ensure Team Members are competent to work in assigned areas.
- Address employee concerns promptly.
- Production and Process Control
- Monitor and maintain production schedules to ensure on-time delivery to customers.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
- Identify and resolve production issues to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Collaborate with maintenance to coordinate equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Manages department performance measures.
- Implements and ensures execution of high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards.
- Revises production schedules and priorities as results of equipment failure, operating problems or customer requirement changes.
- Identifies the workload of all given areas, and shift personnel to areas where additional personnel are needed.
- Optimizes labor levels to meet percent to standard, weekly sales goals and build plans.
- Plans for current and future production requirements.
- Monitor and inform proper support area of inventory levels to allow scheduled to be met.
- Quality and Continuous Improvement
- Enforce quality standards and promptly address non-conformances Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data.
- Support and participate in problem-solving and root cause analysis activities.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, kaizen, 5S).
- Maintain production documentation and accurate reporting in ERP system.
- Follows all IATF standards and ensures team understands and follows standards.
- Safety and Compliance
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety and compliance with all OHSA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and hazard assessments.
- Ensure team members are trained on proper machine operation and PPE use.
Skills and Knowledge

Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment (automotive industry preferred).
- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and production management
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution
- Ability to interpret production reports, KPI's and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with MS Office and ERP/MES systems.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
Education/Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions
- Plant Environment
- Stands, walks and moves about facility freely.
- Bends, stoops, reaches, squats to view production lines and equipment.
- Normal noise exposure to noise below 85 decibels in some areas; some areas with 85-89 decibels (wears hearing protection).
- Wears safety glasses or other PPE
- Exposure to variation in temperature in climate-controlled plants
- Fast paced manufacturing environment with moving machinery and moderate noise levels.
- PPE required – Safety shoes, safety glasses.

- Safety – Zero lost-time incidents, near-miss reporting compliance
- Quality – First-pass yield %, customer complaints, internal defects.
- Productivity – Units produced per shift vs. target, downtime percentage
- Efficiency – Scrap rate %, overtime management, Labour utilization
- Engagement- Attendance, turnover, training completion rates.
