The Process Engineer will work closely with the Plant Director to identify process excellence across production teams and ensure alignment and synergies are achieved. The Process Engineer will design and implement methods and processes in production to establish standard workflow rate and improve efficiency, as well as define and follow-up on action plans to improve lead-times and bottlenecks. This role will support the development of Process Excellence Standards. Responsibilities
- Oversee and assess existing production processes and workflows, working closely with the production teams and Plant Director
- Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets while ensuring production is in compliance
- Develop, implement, and sustain production strategies as well as conduct risk assessments
- Establish quality control guidelines for the production process; document and present to internal stakeholders
- Continuously work to optimize productivity by designing, implementing, and testing new procedures
- Develop action plans to address efficiency or quality issues that may arise; work with teams to establish and calculate KPIs
- Accurately create reports to document process status and changes
- Review processes regularly to ensure consistent improvement of results
- Work with the Plant Director to establish metrics and, track and measure metrics to establish areas for improvement; monitor metrics with implemented changes
- Create thorough presentations and communicate findings and proposals to upper management
- Create and present written instructions for successful implementation of process changes; train productions teams as required
- Assesses compliance with applicable health and safety, as well as quality standards and guidelines
- Foster an environment that promotes communication at all levels and strives to make all information available when and where needed
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of work experience in a process manufacturing engineering environment
- Intermediate knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards
- Experience coaching, training, and leading team members
- Ability to clearly exchange thoughts, ideas and messages through written, verbal, and non-verbal methods that promote an understanding to the team
- Demonstrated project management skills; well organized, attentive to detail
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, organize and prioritize work
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think and respond quickly
