Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Fiber Laser Operator to join our Edmonton production team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating fiber laser cutting machines similar to the BLM brand, ensuring accurate, efficient, and safe processing of metal components.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate and program fiber laser cutting machines with precision and efficiency to meet production targets.
- Set up machines, including loading/unloading materials, adjusting cutting parameters, and performing routine maintenance checks.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and job orders to ensure proper cutting specifications.
- Monitor cutting processes to maintain quality and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with production supervisors and team members to optimize workflow and reduce waste.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area following safety guidelines and company policies.
- Perform regular maintenance, proactive care, cleaning, and upkeep of the machine.
- Assist in inventory management of raw materials and consumables used in the fiber laser process.
- Report machine performance, maintenance needs, and any production delays promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience operating fiber laser cutting machines, preferably BLM or comparable brands.
- Proven knowledge of fiber laser equipment, such as:
- BLM, Trumpf, Mazak, Bystronic, or Amada
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD files.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail and quality control.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding manufacturing environment with standing, lifting, and manual handling.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with all relevant safety protocols.
- Proficiency in English, spoken and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification or formal training in CNC operation or laser cutting technology.
- Experience working in architectural metals or related metal fabrication industries.
- Basic computer skills for machine programming and production reporting.
