Tax Specialist / Manager

Are you a tax planning expert looking to make a direct impact on the financial future of Canadian farm families? Were hiring a Tax Specialist or Manager with a deep understanding of succession planning, corporate reorganizations, and agriculture-related tax issues to join a collaborative team offering high-level advisory services.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being client-facing and solving complex financial and tax matters in a high-trust environment. You'll be part of a cross-functional wealth planning group serving high-net-worth clients across the Prairies.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and support onboarding for new tax clients

  • Review personal income tax returns and government remittance filings (T4, T5, CDA elections, GST)
  • Conduct discovery calls and develop customized tax and succession strategies
  • Research and interpret the Income Tax Act, particularly as it relates to farming and small business
  • Prepare and review corporate, partnership, and personal tax plans
  • Collaborate closely with senior staff to ensure high-quality, timely delivery
  • Manage confidential client information and maintain excellent client relationships
  • Stay up to date on tax legislation, with a focus on agricultural issues
You'll Excel If You Have
  • A CPA designation (or are currently enrolled in the In-Depth Tax Course)
  • Experience with farm business structures (corporations, partnerships, succession planning, farm rollovers)
  • Exposure to CRA reviews and filings (T4, T5, GST, CDA elections)
  • Background in working with farm families in Alberta, Saskatchewan, or Manitoba
  • Previous experience in wealth management, HNW advisory, or family office services
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and analytical skills
Technical & Soft Skills
  • Strong understanding of tax strategy, compliance, and planning

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently

  • Comfort leading client meetings and planning discussions

  • Familiarity with electronic tax research tools and client relationship systems
