Position Summary
Reporting to the Banquet Manager – The Banquet Porter plays a crucial role in supporting all banquet and event operations. This position involves preparing and breaking down event spaces, managing equipment and supplies, and maintaining clean and organized banquet areas. Working closely with the banquet team, the Banquet Porter ensures all event setups are executed smoothly and efficiently to deliver high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the Banquet Event Order (BEO) to accurately set up banquet spaces, including tables, chairs, staging, and AV equipment.
- Assist in breaking down and resetting rooms efficiently and safely after events.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all banquet and back-of-house areas throughout events.
- Support banquet staff and supervisors in transporting supplies and equipment between storage and event areas.
- Ensure all equipment is handled and stored properly to prevent damage and maintain inventory integrity.
- Monitor inventory levels for supplies and report shortages to management.
- Provide professional, courteous assistance to guests and team members when required.
- Work flexible shifts, including late-night hours from 6:00pm to 3:00am as needed.
- Occasionally assist with serving food and beverages during events when needed.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- ProServe certification required (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally, 30lbs frequently, and 20lbs constantly.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including late nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Previous experience in events, hospitality, or physical labour roles preferred.
- Strong teamwork, reliability, and communication skills.
- A positive attitude and willingness to support wherever needed.
Duration: This is a Full-Time seasonal position, April to October. Overtime during busy periods may be required.
