Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Junior Handyman to support a variety of residential renovation projects. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to carry out general repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks under minimal supervision. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in interior renovations and a willingness to grow within a dynamic team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Install vanity cabinets, slab doors, and sliding closet doors with precision.
Install baseboards, quarter rounds, and perform detailed finish carpentry.
Conduct interior painting, drywall installation, and drywall repairs.
Install a variety of tiles including flooring, tub surrounds, and backsplashes.
Measure, cut, and install laminate countertops and closet shelving systems on-site.
Perform miscellaneous carpentry tasks, including mounting bathroom accessories, air grills, and minor fixtures.
Install various flooring materials such as vinyl, laminate, and engineered hardwood.
Support interior renovation projects through general labor and skilled assistance.
Conduct basic plumbing hookups (asset).
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned to support overall project completion and site operations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years' experience in construction or general contracting roles.
Proven experience with tools and equipment relevant to the job (e.g., drills, saws, levels).
Valid Ontario Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract.
Strong problem-solving skills, both on and off-site.
Ability to interpret work orders, read blueprints/drawings, and execute tasks accordingly.
Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy materials as required.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to follow and complete daily, weekly, and monthly task schedules.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills (Assets):
Experience with minor plumbing installations.
Familiarity with building code requirements and health and safety standards.
Basic knowledge of electrical systems (an asset but not required).
Ability to communicate clearly with clients, supervisors, and team members.
