Job Title: Experienced Fiberglass Fabricator
We're Brownlow's Performance Fabrication, a small, technically-minded shop that produces custom fiberglass parts for commercial clients. We do everything from designing to shipping the final product. We're looking for an experienced fiberglass fabricator, with some general shop experience to join our expert team.
Responsibilities:
- Designing parts, reviewing plans, building molds, creating and finishing parts, and shipping the final product
- Maintaining the equipment to keep it in peak operating condition
- Operating a chopper gun independently
- Trimming, grinding, and assembling parts
- Body work
- Spraying and gel coating
- Working with various composites, wood, and metal
- Vacuum infusions and closed molding
- Running the shop when the owners are away
Qualifications:
Here are our must-haves:
- Strong experience in at least two of the following:
- Using a chopper gun
- Trimming, grinding, assembling
- Gel coating
- A valid driver's license
Anything below would be an asset:
- Experience using computers to read or create drawings (AutoCAD or SolidWorks an asset)
- BCIT mechanical engineering technology diploma, or related
- Experience in a shop working with metal, wood, and automotive
- Any courses in composites
Compensation:
- Up to $30 per hour
- Full-time hours, overtime sometimes available
- Seasonal flexible start times to deal with heat in the shop
