About Ventures & Ecosystems
This role resides within the V&E group at MaRS. V&E works with over 1400 innovation-driven science and technology startups. V&E helps entrepreneurs commercialize innovations with high business growth potential in Canada and globally by facilitating access to the customer, talent, funding, marketing and stakeholder connections required to successfully scale their business.
About the Position
In this role, the Intern will work closely with the MaRS Market Intelligence (MI) team as well as other MaRS teams/partners to deliver high-impact market research projects that support the launch, growth, and scaling of innovative ventures.
The Intern will also be involved in collaborating with the Market Intelligence Team to improve on our product offerings.
This is an 8-month internship.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing market research questions from early-stage startups and providing relevant secondary research
- Researching, analyzing, and delivering customized market research projects to high-potential startups
- Supporting research projects for various MaRS cohorts
- Ensure timely and detailed reporting and documentation of client projects in Salesforce, Asana, and other relevant platforms
Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor Degree
- Market research certificate an asset
- Experience executing market research studies and managing project timelines
- Knowledge and interest in Health (Biotech-Pharma, Medical Devices, Digital Health)
- Client-facing experience
- Experience working in a startup an asset
- Passionate about entrepreneurship, innovative technology, and market research
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Solid organizational and time management skills
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients
- Great written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Creative problem-solver with a curious and analytical mindset
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Confidence in presenting research findings, an asset
- Exposure to project management tools (e.g., Asana) or CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), an asset

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and reside in Ontario.
Salary Range: $40,000 - $50,000 annually (prorated over the duration of the contract), extended healthcare benefits, lifestyle spending account, and paid time-off.
