Be a part of our team to help grow and operate a regionally significant underground mine that is rapidly becoming the future of the Red Lake Gold Mining district in Ontario, Canada.
Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, the successful candidate will deliver training, and coach Safety to all members of the underground program at West Red Lake Gold Mines and provide support for the Internal Responsibility System.
The focus of this role will include:
- Work cohesively with Safety coordinator and Training coordinator
- Responsible for planning and conducting employee training
- Perform educational and development programs
- Train underground workers on equipment
- Coach Safety programs in the field
- Perform JTOs for competency of training
- Conduct safety inspections and train others to conduct them
- Train personnel on current procedures while underground
- Provide safety orientation training to visitors and guests on site
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
- 5 years previous mining experience
- Have fundamental computer skills for tracking, documenting, and reporting
- Time in safety or training systems would be an asset
- OHS Act navigation, and basic knowledge is an asset
- Previous underground mobile equipment experience
- Knowledge of theory on coaching and mentoring.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to communicate to groups in a classroom and non-classroom setting.
- Ability to plan, organizes, implement and evaluate instruction
