Position Summary
Eagle Builders is seeking an experiencedPurchasing & Supply Chain Managerto transform our procurement function into a strategic advantage. In this role, you will over see end-to-end purchasing and supply chain operations - streamlining processes, negotiating favorable supplier agreements, and fostering strong partnerships that drive cost savings and efficiency. You'll lead sourcing and evaluation of suppliers against specific criteria, continuously optimizing quality, reliability, and lead times.
Your work will be instrumental in preventing supply disruptions, maintaining construction and fabrication momentum, and keeping our initiatives on schedule and on budget. Above all, you'll embody Eagle Builders' commitment to integrity and excellence in every decision.
Job Description
- Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain an overview of our supply chain strengths, challenges and opportunities,
- Lead purchasing activities using computerized systems and shipping processes,
- Continually evaluate and improve procurement practices,
- Cultivate and sustain strategic supplier relationships while driving costs and lead-time reductions,
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with potential suppliers, assessing their capabilities and fit against predefined criteria,
- Review and analyze all vendors/suppliers, supply, and pricing options regularly,
- Lead inventory management with a keen eye on turnover, data accuracy and surplus retention,
- Oversee inbound logistics, freight, warehousing, and delivery of materials - proactively resolve any delays or disruptions,
- Optimize transportation routes to reduce lead times and costs,
- Manage supply chain risks, including disruptions, price fluctuations, or geopolitical shifts,
- Report on inventory, spend forecasting, supplier metrics, and operational performance,
- Collaborate across departments to implement improvements and keep operations running efficiently,
- Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to sourcing activities,
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid passport and the flexibility to travel internationally.
- Degree or diploma in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in purchasing and supply chain management, preferably within the construction industry.
- Valid Class 5 license and reliable transportation.
- Available Monday to Friday, with flexibility for occasional Saturdays and overtime.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Projects) and computerized procurement systems.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Resilient under pressure and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Attention to detail, organized, and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to thrive both independently and part of a collaborative team.
- Local or willing to relocate to Central Alberta for in office work.
