Job Title: Perimeter Drainage Lead Hand

Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Perimeter Drainage Lead Hand to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a solid background in perimeter drain systems, sewer and water line installation and repair, and a deep understanding of piping systems. You'll lead a team on a variety of piping projects, ensuring successful execution, safety compliance, and clear communication with management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow Detailed Instructions: Execute jobs accurately by adhering to clear scopes of work and specific instructions.

  • Manage Projects Efficiently: Lead projects to completion with a focus on maximizing productivity and profitability.

  • Communicate with Project Managers: Provide daily updates on job progress and proactively address any issues.

  • Document Work: Complete digital daily work logs using an app, including uploading progress photos.

  • Excavation & System Replacement: Excavate and replace perimeter drains, sewer lines, water lines, and other related systems.

  • Operate Equipment: Safely operate a mini excavator on various job sites (experience preferred but not mandatory).

  • Teamwork & Independence: Work well within a team or independently as needed.

  • Emergency Availability: Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergency jobs.

  • System Installation: Install piping systems and storm sumps with accuracy and care.

  • Drain Maintenance: Occasionally use drain cleaning tools to maintain and clear systems.

  • Physical Demands: Maintain the physical fitness necessary for lifting, digging, and other strenuous tasks.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Experience operating a mini excavator is strongly preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of excavation practices, trench safety, and shoring is essential.

  • Solid understanding of piping, drainage, and sewer systems.

  • Ability to drive a truck and trailer is an asset.

  • Previous leadership experience in managing crews and job sites is a plus.

  • Must hold a valid driver's license.

  • Fluency in English is required for clear communication and documentation.
