Job Title: IT System Administrator

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking an experienced IT System Administrator to join our Information Technology department. This role is integral to ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of our computer servers. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, backups, and restoration of server systems, contributing to the overall IT infrastructure that supports our mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain computer servers and related hardware and software.
• Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity through effective restoration processes.
• Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive information and maintain compliance with security protocols.
• Collaborate with IT team members to develop and implement policies and procedures for system administration.
• Document system configurations, changes, and maintenance activities for future reference.
• Provide technical support and guidance to staff and users as needed.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance system performance.

Work Environment:

This position is located on-site in Ottawa, ON, Canada. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative environment alongside other IT professionals.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT system administration.
• Degree in IT or Computer Science
• Proven expertise in server installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of backup and restoration processes.
• Current security clearance (Secret).
