CMP manufactures and distributes products under the brands, Martyr, Rocna, Vulcan, Titan, Panther, Dock Edge, Octopus, Intellisteer, Sanitation Equipment and, Trollmaster. We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the team in our Delta, BC location.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Engineer (Industrial Maintenance) is a full-time position, responsible for installing, inspecting, adjusting and repairing equipment while following safety rules and regulations. You will be required to maintain all equipment to required standards and be responsive to production needs and equipment failures. You work as part of a team but would routinely perform work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your duties.

Responsibilities:
Production:
- Reading diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
- Installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions
- Adjusting machinery and repairing or replacing defective parts
- Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
- Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations
- Participating in the PM program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines
- Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
- Cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances
- Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Safety:
- Promote safe work practices as outlined in BC's Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
- Strive for Zero-time lost accidents
- Adhere to all company safety SOP and equipment safety features
Requirements:
- 1-2 years relevant work experience; Red seal/apprentice experience is a definite asset but not required
- 1-2 years of experience or understanding of electrical/electronic troubleshooting.
- 1-2 years of experience with Mig welding. Tig an asset
- 1-2 years of experience or working knowledge of safety standards of equipment
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds
- Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Tools supplied
- Flexible to accommodate shift changes based on work exigencies
- Comfortable working independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines and also in a team environment
- Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always
- Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills allowing one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
Hours
- 6:00 am – 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday
- Possible shifts in the future: 8am to 4:30pm or 2:15pm to 10:45pm
