Headquartered in Stoney Creek, the plants have design, mold, paint, assembly and testing capabilities. Tiercon manages 5 sites across 2 cities employing approximately 550 people throughout Canada. Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as a Mold Changer at our 591 Arvin Ave. Stoney Creek facility.

Job Summary & Reporting Structure:

Reporting to the Mold Supervisor, the Mold Changer is responsible to for mold changes, machine troubleshooting and repair.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform mold changes based on schedule and prepare/setup the machine for production. Ensure the work environment is safe to perform the mold change and communication to all impacted employees is clear.
  • Understand and follow Standardized work established as it relates to Mold changes.
  • Provide input into efficiency improvements regarding Mold changes
  • Assist maintenance technician/electrician with machine maintenance including mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair.
  • Assist mold maker with injection mold tool troubleshooting, repair and maintenance.
  • Support the production team priorities of Safety, Quality and Delivery.
  • Assist in monitoring process conditions to ensure they are in control.
  • Assist in trials on new programs
  • Assist in trials on new technology
  • In conjunction with other departments, participate in identifying and analyzing non-conformances or production/quality problems; and developing, implementing and verifying corrective actions.
  • Perform duties as assigned from time to time by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 at minimum, Applicable Post-Secondary schooling or trade an asset
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
  • Demonstrated experience with various hand tools
  • Training and experience with cranes an asset
  • Able to support high physical demands of the position
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a mechanically related role
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment an asset
