About The Job
We are seeking a skilled and innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team at Corinex. This role focuses on the design and development of mechanical components, primarily mould-injected and die-cast, for our advanced networking and cleantech products. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of mechanical and electronic integration, including PCB assembly, and will possess hands-on experience with 3D CAD tools such as Pro-E (Creo) and SolidWorks.

This position involves preparing manufacturing drawings, supporting tooling modifications, and collaborating closely with electrical design teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electronic systems. You will contribute to project planning, cost estimation, and documentation while playing an essential role in ensuring product quality, functionality, and manufacturability. This is a dynamic role suited for individuals with a passion for precision engineering, cross-functional teamwork, and continuous innovation in the cleantech space.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components (mould-injected and die-cast) for Corinex products, ensuring functionality and reliability standards.
  • Knowledge of electronics, soldering and assembly of printed circuits.
  • Prepare manufacturing drawings for new components and systems, recommending modifications to existing tooling equipment and ensuring design compatibility.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills and extensive knowledge of Pro-E (Creo), product data management, and geometric principles. Knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Assist in cost and material estimates, project schedules, and report preparation.
  • Aid in the preparation of quotes and provide technical information to other departments as needed.
  • Document all related work and prepare 2D and 3D models and documents for conceptual design.
  • Monitor and inspect mechanical assemblies, construction, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate closely with the electrical design team to ensure alignment of technical drawings with project goals.
  • Develop and execute project plans in coordination with the VP of Engineering, ensuring adherence to budget, schedules, and project requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical or related Engineering field.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and Pro-E (Creo) for 3D modelling and design.
  • Experience in preparing 3D models and documents for conceptual design.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and extensive knowledge of Pro-E, product data management, and geometric principles.
  • Ability to manage project schedules, budgets, and materials effectively.
  • Willingness to travel based on project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the inspection and maintenance of tooling equipment, especially in the mould injection process and the die-cast forming process.
  • Familiarity with project planning and coordination alongside cross-functional teams.
  • Previous exposure to smart metering and cleantech projects.
