Municipal Worker 2 - Landfill
(1 Position Available) Term of Employment:Full-Time, ContinuingRate of Pay:Band 3: $27.41 – $30.11 per hour (Subject to CUPE 1015 Agreement)Current Location:LandfillDuties:Reporting to the Supervisor, Landfill, the Municipal Worker 2 will provide guidance and information to customers on how to properly dispose of their waste. The Municipal Worker 2 will give assistance to run the Landfill smoothly and maintain a safe environment in the Landfill's day to day operations.
Duties
Municipal Worker 2 - Landfill

The Municipal Worker 2 will give assistance to run the Landfill smoothly and maintain a safe environment in the Landfill's day to day operations.
Duties
- Provide direction for incoming traffic to designated disposal areas.
- Screen incoming landfill materials.
- Monitor the leachate and storm pond levels.
- Conduct site inspections and maintenance including: litter collection and facility housekeeping.
- Update landfill signage for designated disposal areas.
- Manage the recycling area for content of disposal materials.
- Complete work-related documents and records.
- Conduct sampling for analytical testing for the leachate, storm pond and sump waste site.
- Provide coverage to the gate attendant and equipment operator.
- Assist supervisor during Household Hazardous Waste Round-Up and Pitch-in week events.
- Assist in the training of seasonal and new staff.
- Participate in the City of Lloydminster's Health and Safety Program.
- Other related duties as required.
- Highschool Diploma (GED) or equivalency.
- Minimum one year of previous experience in a related field.
- A valid Class 5 Driver's License registered in Alberta or Saskatchewan with an acceptable Driver's Abstract is required. This position may be required to operate a municipal vehicle for business purposes.
- Must be in good physical condition to accommodate long period of standing and lifting to 44 lbs.
- Capable of operating maintenance equipment and hand tools in an efficient and responsible manner.
- Intermediate computer skills such as internet, email, word, excel, data entry and electronic time sheets is required.
- The successful candidate will be required to complete training on operating heavy equipment (Loader/Dozer/Compactor/Tandem truck). Basic knowledge of operating heavy equipment (Loader/Dozer/Compactor/Tandem Truck) is required.
- Responsible, reliable and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills; both verbal and written to interpret data and guide customers to physical locations and provide clear direction on how to properly dispose of their waste.
- Possess a high standard of confidentiality.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
- Successful applicant must provide proof of qualifications.
- Applicants with international education will be required to include an Academic Credential Assessment with application.
