About the Opportunity
We're seeking a Plant Engineer who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments and is energized by both day-to-day technical challenges and long-term strategic projects. This is a key leadership role supporting current plant operations while helping to launch a new, state-of-the-art facility featuring fully automated production lines. The ideal candidate will bring strong maintenance leadership, automation knowledge, and project execution capabilities—along with a passion for designing custom machinery and optimizing complex systems. This is a highly visible role with direct impact on operational efficiency, capital expansion, and the company's next phase of growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence & Maintenance Leadership
- Lead and optimize the preventive maintenance program to minimize downtime and ensure reliability across a 24/7 operation.
- Manage and develop a small but capable team through two direct reports (Maintenance Manager and Purchaser).
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and implement effective corrective and preventive measures.
- Support the commissioning of a new, fully automated production facility.
- Design and customize machinery and components to meet specific production needs, ensuring fit-for-purpose equipment and improved performance.
- Assist with layout planning, equipment installation, and line automation using AutoCAD and other engineering tools.
- Collaborate with global equipment suppliers and participate in international site visits to support equipment specification and integration.
- Partner with production, operations, and leadership to improve processes and implement scalable systems.
- Help integrate legacy teams and systems with new technologies and standards.
- Champion safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure maintenance practices and operations meet all regulatory, safety, and environmental standards.
- Maintain detailed logs of inspections, maintenance activity, and safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
- 4–5+ years of experience in a Plant Engineer or Production Engineering Manager role within food manufacturing.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and experienced with automated equipment and high-speed packaging systems.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, modifying, and customizing manufacturing machinery is essential.
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
- Experience supporting or leading capital equipment projects.
- Visionary yet practical – able to think long-term while addressing immediate challenges.
- Collaborative and communicative, with the ability to influence across departments.
- Comfortable leading seasoned technical teams and driving change in a growth environment.
- On-site role with daytime hours (approx. 9–5) and some weekend coverage required; time off provided in lieu.
- Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, varying temperatures, and active production lines.
