This is a fantastic opportunity for a mechanically inclined, team-oriented individual with HVAC, electrical, or plumbing experience who is passionate about building performance and sustainable practices. The Building Operator will be responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and energy-efficient operations at Canada Life Place in downtown Regina.
Key Responsibilities Operations:
- Support the day-to-day operations of base building systems including chillers, centrifugal pumps, and air-handling systems.
- Assist and oversee contractors on-site, including obtaining estimates for proposed work.
- Perform critical system testing and monitor systems such as water treatment, chilled water backup, and emergency generators.
- Participate in and contribute to energy management practices across all mechanical and ventilation systems.
- Conduct regular building tours and inspections, producing timely reports.
- Support WHMIS, safety, and environmental programs.
Maintenance
- Ensure that cleanliness and housekeeping meet the highest standards.
- Execute preventative maintenance using Angus PM (or similar system).
- Respond to demand maintenance needs and repair essential systems such as fans and pumps.
- Follow all Occupational Health & Safety policies, environmental standards, and corporate property management protocols.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain operator logs, checklists, and inspection records.
- Manage and track work orders through the Angus TR system.
- Coordinate and schedule annual inspections and compliance testing.
- Ensure tenant satisfaction on operational and maintenance-related matters.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experiencein commercial property/building operations.
- Knowledge ofHVAC, plumbing, electrical, BAS systems, and life safety equipment.
- Valid5th Class Power Engineering licenseorBES certification(required or in progress).
- Strong troubleshooting skills with both mechanical and electrical systems.
- Valid Drivers License.
- Team-oriented, hands-on professional with excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Passion forenergy managementand sustainable building practices.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, be part of an on-call rotation, and respond to after-hours emergencies as required.
