JOB SUMMARY:
The Safety coordinator will support and work alongside all areas of the company, and foster the team atmosphere of Flightcraft Aviation Services Ltd. They must ensure all aspects of company safety and support of the team. Quality internal customer service, in-depth safety functions, attention to detail, and teamwork are all key components to be a successful team member. Conflict resolution, and team building are key tasks. Multi-tasking and verbal/written communication skills, an energetic and outgoing personality, and an accepting nature of change is essential. They must also be flexible and able to deal with the adapting nature of aviation, the Canada Labour Code, and Government requirements. This position represents Flightcraft Aviation Services Ltd. and its team, and as a result must present professional, unwavering leadership characteristics.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Report to Manager on an as-needed (daily) basis.
- Engage with staff team members as needed for support.
- Interact with ATW and BTW teams, ensuring safety is always first.
- Maintain and keep up to date all safety files.
- Complete internal safety audits.
- Attend H&S meetings at all stations.
- Provide reports on H&S meetings.
- Ensure local H&S boards are current and relevant.
- Ensure compliance with required mandated safety reporting procedures.
- Support all internal and external safety related inquiries or requests.
- Complete the investigation process when required for incidents and/or accidents.
- Provide reports on safety-related issues.
- Collaborate directly with management to update and ensure policies and procedures are current and relevant.
- Engage with air carriers on their safety requirements.
- Assist with performance management procedures.
- Schedule meetings, interviews, audits etc. as required.
- Perform orientations and training with the safety team as required.
- Produce and submit reports on general safety activity.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- College diploma in safety background, and/or Business Administration.
- Two years experience working in a team environment.
- Solid understanding of Google for Business, Microsoft OS, Office products, and HIPPO Asset Management System.
- Must have valid drivers license with clean abstract.
- Must be able to travel within the Flightcraft Aviation Services Ltd. network, and other destinations as required.
- Ability to speak, write, and understand the English language.
- Must have excellent team player competencies.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision, in a team environment.
- Must be willing to adapt to the changing nature of aviation.
