Ayrton Energys mission is to propel the global shift towards sustainable energy with broad deployment of our cutting-edge hydrogen storage technology, reshaping hydrogen distribution to mirror the safety, simplicity, and efficiency of traditional fuels such as diesel or gasoline. As a part of this Ayrton is looking to hire a dynamic Electrical/Controls
Engineer to help develop our technology into a commercial product.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Specify and develop power, instrumentation and control systems for Ayrton Energys electrochemical hydrogen storage and transport technology
  • Create and validate design requirements for components and electrical sub-systems of the reactor balance of plant
  • Develop novel testing and diagnostics capability for product development and in-field monitoring
  • Generate design documentation including circuit schematics, line diagrams, I/O lists and DFMEA to enable successful design review and fabrication
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support quality assurance, manufacturing and research and development.
  • Support the development and protection of IP
  • Collaborate with leadership team to define project goals, deliverables, budgets and timelines

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in designing and developing electrical and mechatronic systems for electrochemical processes
  • Experience specifying and sourcing high-current DC switched-mode power electronics
  • Demonstrated capability to develop prototype designs into commercial products
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance related to fuel cell and electrolyzer technology
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex challenges into simple, actionable solutions
  • Project management experience is considered an asset, particularly in coordinating cross-functional teams, managing timelines, and delivering technical milestones
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada and able to work on-site at Ayrton Energys facility in Calgary
