Carleton Place Ford is looking for an Apprentice Service Technician!
Our Apprentices are responsible for working closely with the rest of the service team to learn and execute activities as assigned by the Shop Foreman or other Service Technicians. Apprentices should be motivated to learn and be open to feedback.
Duties and Responsibilities:

- Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promotes dealership by presenting professional image, positive attitude, and clean work area.
- Road tests vehicles to ensure repairs are completed properly.
- Suggests additional work that is needed to the Service Advisor so the customer may be notified
- Completes service and repair assignments correctly, to pass quality inspections or test drives.
- Collects all necessary information before requesting parts (e.g., model year, etc.).
- Maintains sufficient personally-owned tools; keeps tools in good working order.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintains cleanliness of the customer's vehicle.
- Working Effectively with Others
- Actively listens to concerns; takes action to respond to others' needs.
- Provides clear and legible record of service completed for both customer and dealership use.
- Has an approachable style; fosters open communication through active listening.
- Assists Service Advisors, if necessary, to explain completed repairs to a customer.
- Assists other technicians when needed.
- Maintains composure when faced with multiple demands.
- Completes repair orders within specified time frame and alerts appropriate personnel if delayed.
- Performs preventive maintenance, cleaning, and repairs on dealership tools and equipment; ensures facility is clean and organized at all times.
- Follows all hazardous waste and safety regulations and company policies.
- Properly disposes of used parts and returns unused parts to the parts counterperson.
- Follows safety rules and regulations.
- Returns special tools and reference materials to their designated locations.
Experience
- No experience required, but would prefer someone with experience. Pay will reflect candidates experience and competencies.
- Tools required to perform repairs and services
Physical requirements and Working Conditions
- Moving about the dealership to complete auto service and repair
- Using hand and/or power tools and equipment consistent with industry standards
Working Hours and Compensation
Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Note: Break and lunch periods will be scheduled by supervisor based on work flow.
Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
