The Opportunity
We're seeking an In-House Legal Counsel to join the Legal Department. Reporting to the VP, Legal & General Counsel, you'll handle a wide range of matters with a focus on civil litigation, real estate (including full conveyancing), corporate transactions, and regulatory compliance. This is an opportunity to contribute to a growing, fast-paced organization and make a tangible difference across multiple industries.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic legal advice to executives and business units.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements.

  • Manage civil litigation matters from demand letters to court appearances (BC Supreme Court, Small Claims, tenancy hearings).

  • Oversee real estate conveyancing and corporate transaction documentation.

  • Support corporate governance, compliance, and risk management.

  • Liaise with external counsel to ensure cost-effective legal solutions.

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes impacting the business.

What You Bring

  • LL.B. or J.D. and admission to the B.C. Bar (good standing).

  • 3-6 years post-call experience in litigation (civil/commercial focus).

  • Strong background in real estate and corporate transactions.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills with strong business acumen.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment (support from a paralegal & legal assistant).

  • Proactive, organized, and confident managing files independently.

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
