Imagine arriving to work at a stunning slope-side hotel after lapping one of our three mountains on your skis or snowboard. We are looking to recruit Summit Club Hosts for the upcoming winter. The Summit Club Host brings their fine dining serving and hosting experience to the role, with both energy and confidence. The individual in this role requires strong organization skills, excellent communication, and is a self-starter. Having both knowledge of Sun Peaks as well as excellent food and wine knowledge is a plus for this role. Compensation Information: $21.00 per hour

Physical Requirement: Heavy; work activities involve handling loads between 20kg and 35kg; predominantly in an indoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

This role is eligible for an incentive for successful applicants to receive $1 per hour worked based on completion of a full winter season contract. Conditions apply to this incentive and will be shared during the interview and onboarding.

Skills you bring with you:

  • Previous 2-3 years serving experience in upper scale dining or previous concierge experience.
  • Gracious in hosting and welcoming and strong in quickly building relationships with others; a true connector.
  • Extensive familiarity with the Sun Peaks community with established connections is a benefit.
  • Energetic with a confident positive attitude; driven to deliver elevated guest experiences.
  • Professional and well organized with excellent communication skills in English; multi-lingual is a strong asset.
  • Highly responsible self-starter and reliable team player, with the ability to remain calm.
  • Excellent Food and Wine Knowledge with ability to provide eloquent descriptions of service items.
  • Serving it Right Certification Required.

Primary Responsibilities:

Service/Operations:

  • Responsible for providing an exceptional experience from start to finish:
    • Follows the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel Food and Beverage Standard of Service.
    • Attention to detail from set up, meal execution, and tear down.
    • Assist in setting up buffet with food presentation standards and practices while ensuring food safe handling is in order.
    • Daily coffee and tea set up for and tear down & Daily snack bar is filled with items.
    • Food, Wine and Beverage Knowledge of selected serving items.
    • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; open wine and take drink orders from guests.
    • Shows a passion for Hospitality, Service and Food.
    • Health & Safety Regulations are adhered to at all times.
    • Assists in any overflow pace as lobby greeter as business volumes dictate.

Guest Experience:

  • Deliver an authentically personal, elevated experience for our Summit Club Guests:
    • Responsible for ensuring buffet food is replenished, refilling beverages, and removing dirty dishes.
    • Provide a warm, professional, and tailored welcome to VIP guests upon arrival to the lounge. Consistently provide professional friendly and engaging service.
    • Develop and maintain strong guest relationships to ensure the summit club lounge loyalty.
    • Brings any Guest concerns to the Front Office or F&B Leadership Team.
    • Act as an Ambassador of the Hotel & Sun Peaks with the ability to promote internal and external events.

    • Complete all tasks to help facilitate a smooth and efficient service from start to finish.
    • Clean up Summit Club after daily service and assist with inventory, food storage, and closing duty task as assigned.
    • Capable of assisting in emergency situations making prompt decisions in the best interest of the Guest and the Hotel.
