Crisis Response Supervisor: Short-Term Crisis & Safe Bed Program
One Full-Time Contract Position to May 2027 (with the possibility of extension or becoming permanent)
  • Location: Thornhill, Ontario L4J 8C1
  • Head Office Location: Aurora, Ontario L4G3S9
    • must be within a commutable daily distance from the office and/or service area
  • Status: Contract, Full-Time
  • Starting Hourly Rate: $38.51 + $2.75 premium / Hour
  • Office Hours: Monday - Friday - 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, 35 Hours per week
  • Office Expectations; Work in the office minimum once per week in addition to in-office meetings, trainings, and supervisions

Job Description


The Short-Term Crisis & Safe Beds Supervisor is responsible for the clinical support of the crisis bed staff within the designated team and catchment area serving Ontario Health -Central. The Crisis Response Supervisor acts as a resource and supports Crisis/Safe Bed workers in assessing service user program eligibility, needs and identifying problem-solving strategies for complex or critical service situations in conjunction with the Mental Health Manager. Clinical support and supervision is provided to individual workers and through facilitation of regular individual and group consultation meetings.
Short-Term Crisis & Safe Beds Supervisor collaborates with consumers, community partners and the public in response to individually identified goals with a focus on increasing the quality of life for individuals served.
In addition, the Short-Term Crisis & Safe Beds Supervisor participates in the development of community resources and creative strategies to address mental health crisis and service system issues.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in social work or related discipline (i.e. Health Sciences)
  • Experience;
    • Minimum five years related experience
    • Minimum two years supervisory experience
    • Management and leadership experience in community development and systems planning
    • Experience in providing clinical support to staff in an individual and group setting
    • Counselling, crisis prevention and intervention experience
    • Sound knowledge of the population and pertinent legislation
    • Knowledge and significant use of Psychosocial Rehabilitation practices
  • Registration with a relevant Ontario College an asset
  • Project Management/Implementation experience is an asset
  • Francophone or second language is considered an asset
  • An understanding of cultural diversity is considered an asset
