Role Summary

The Senior Systems Administrator / Infrastructure Lead is responsible for ensuring the performance, security, and reliability of Pattison ID's IT infrastructure across multiple locations in North America. This role combines deep technical knowledge with leadership in systems standardization, Level 2/3 support escalation, automation, and project execution.

The successful candidate is highly self-directed, skilled at prioritizing infrastructure needs, and experienced with automation tools and enterprise IT operations. This role also involves cross-team collaboration and mentoring of junior staff.

This position requires:

- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when needed,

- Up to 30% travel, and

- A valid passport.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and support enterprise server and storage infrastructure across all company sites.

- Manage core services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.

- Perform regular system patching, firmware updates, and ensure system stability and availability.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date infrastructure documentation for all locations.

- Automate routine tasks and deployments using RMM (Remote Monitoring and Management) platforms (e.g., NinjaOne) and PowerShell scripting.

- Lead or support infrastructure-related project deployments such as server upgrades, software implementations, and network expansions.

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.

- Promote consistency, standardization, and operational excellence across all sites.

- Work closely with SOC Team, application, and business teams to align infrastructure solutions with organizational goals.

- Apply and enforce system security standards, including access controls, endpoint hardening, and patch compliance.

- Assist in vulnerability identification, remediation, and risk mitigation efforts.

Expectations & Working Conditions

- Ability to independently prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.

- Flexibility to work after hours as needed (e.g., maintenance windows, outages).

- Willingness to travel up to 30% between sites across Canada and the United-Stats; must have a valid passport.

- Comfort operating in a hybrid work environment, with on-site presence as needed.

Qualifications

- 6–8 years of demonstrable experience in systems or infrastructure administration in a multi-site environment.

- Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, and endpoint management.

- Hands-on experience with RMM platforms (e.g., NinjaOne) and PowerShell scripting for task automation.

- Experience configuring and supporting firewalls and networking equipment (e.g., switches, routers, VPNs).

- Strong understanding of patch management, system monitoring, and escalation procedures.

- Bilingual (French/English) is a strong asset.

Preferred Certifications

- CompTIA Server+, Linux+, or Network+
