As we continue to scale, we are looking for a permanent Vice President of Finance,. This role is a critical member of our Executive Leadership Team (ELT), working closely with the CEO and global leaders to drive financial strategy, compliance, and operational efficiency across this publicly listed business.

The VP of Finance will serve as a key strategic advisor to the CEO and ELT, providing leadership across financial planning & analysis, risk management, compliance, M&A, investor relations support, and reporting. This individual will lead and mentor cross-functional teams across multiple geographies, ensuring alignment with both day-to-day operations and long-term strategic goals. The role also assumes full oversight of financial reporting, internal controls, audits, and regulatory disclosures required of a publicly traded entity.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Finance & Leadership

  • Serve as Interim CFO, partnering closely with the CEO and ELT on all financial matters.
  • Provide financial leadership and mentorship to the Accounting, Finance, and Operations teams across North America and Europe.
  • Lead the company's budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
  • Evaluate business risks and opportunities, including potential M&A and international expansion strategies.
  • Act as a key financial advisor in strategic decision-making.

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, board reporting packages, and disclosures.
  • Ensure full compliance with public company reporting requirements (SEC/CSA or relevant jurisdictional bodies).
  • Lead variance and cost analysis, actuals vs. budget tracking, and financial modeling to support business units.
  • Oversee compliance, tax, payroll, and regulatory reporting in multiple jurisdictions (Canada, Spain, Germany).

Systems, Controls & Compliance

  • Lead or support ERP (NetSuite preferred) implementation, upgrades, or systems integrations.
  • Maintain and improve internal controls, financial processes, and reporting accuracy.
  • Support legal and regulatory compliance, audits, and due diligence processes.

Business Partnerships & Operations

  • Collaborate with internal departments and external advisors (legal, auditors, consultants) to ensure strong governance and execution.
  • Oversee and negotiate key vendor and service contracts, including multi-million-dollar sponsorship and performance-based agreements.
  • Support compensation structures tied to commissions, bonuses, prize money, and partnerships.
  • Partner with Talent Management and HR teams on payroll and financial aspects of contracts and compensation models.

Requirements

Required

  • CPA designation (Canada) with a strong foundation in financial reporting and compliance.
  • Minimum 10 years of senior financial leadership experience, ideally in high-growth, entrepreneurial, or publicly listed environments.
  • Proven experience working with executive leadership and Boards of Directors.
  • Strong experience with MS Excel, budgeting tools, and financial modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience with financial oversight in global/multi-entity operations (Canada and Europe preferred).
  • Experience negotiating high-value contracts and managing external relationships with service providers, legal, and audit partners.
  • Must be able to commute to Liberty Village office 3–4 times per week (hybrid schedule).
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 15–20% of the time.

  • Experience in esports, sports management, entertainment, gaming, or tech industries.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP (implementation, integrations, or upgrades).
  • Bilingual English-Spanish strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with compensation models involving commissions, bonuses, sponsorships, and prize-based earnings.
