Core Responsibilities:
Lead a team of tax professionals handling a range of engagements from complex compliance to advisory and planning
Oversee and review personal, corporate, and trust tax filings (T1, T2, T3), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with current tax legislation
Provide proactive tax planning strategies for owner-managed businesses and high-net-worth individuals
Act as a strategic advisor for corporate reorganizations, succession planning, and cross-generational wealth strategies
Mentor, coach, and support the professional development of junior and mid-level team members
Stay current on federal and provincial tax law updates, ensuring the firms practices evolve with regulatory changes
Assist with business development initiatives, including onboarding new clients and identifying value-added services for existing ones
What You Bring:
CPA designation in good standing (Canada)
Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
Completed or actively enrolled in the CPA In-Depth Tax Program
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in public practice taxation
At least 2 years of experience in a review capacity and managing/supervising tax staff
Technical strength in Canadian corporate taxation, complex compliance, and reorganizations
Proficiency in CaseWare, CaseView, Taxprep, Excel, and other relevant tax tools
A team-first mindset with strong communication skills and an ability to lead with integrity
Compensation & Work Environment:
Base Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 CAD (commensurate with experience)
Bonus: Performance-based incentives available
Location: Markham, Ontario On-site at firm headquarters
Relocation: Not offered for this position
