The successful applicant will be required to work in accordance with the BCGEU Collective Agreement as well as the applicable policies and procedures of Tlaamin Health and Tlaamin Nation. This position is open to applicants of all genders.
Key Responsibilities
Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Tlaamin laws, regulations, policies, practices, and procedures as directed by the Position. Maintains confidentiality as required pertaining to citizens, clients, employees, and general matters of the Nation.
- Ensures interior of building is clean and disinfected
- Ensures the outside of the public entrance into the building is free of garbage and debris
- Maintains cleanliness in the staff, classroom, and public washrooms daily
- Daily empties trash cans and other waste containers, i.e. compost and recycling boxes
- Cleans personal office spaces
- Sweeps and mops all floors daily
- Daily wipes clean high-touch points/areas daily, i.e. door handles, light switches, etc.
- Checks and spot-cleans windows and windowed doors daily
- Maintains records of daily/monthly tasks: work log, supply/equipment orders
- Works with classroom staff to determine the best time to clean in their rooms based on activities, i.e. naptimes, etc.
- Performs other related duties as directed by the Manager or Director
Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent education
- Workplace Hazardous Material information system (WHIMIS)
- Successful Criminal Record check, with Vulnerable Sector screening
- Maintain a Basic First Aid & CPR certificate or willingness to obtain
- Current TB test
- Current Food Safe certificate or willingness to obtain
- Class 5 BC Drivers License and a Successful Drivers Abstract
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Well-developed oral communication and reading skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Punctual and reliable.
- Ability to interact respectfully with children, staff, and families
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of relevant equipment.
Working Conditions
Work will take place primarily in the Nations Child Development Resource Centre (CDRC). This is a physically demanding position that requires lifting, stooping, crouching, standing, and reaching, with continuous activity throughout the workday.
