Who are we looking for:

We are looking to hire aDZ Driver with Moffett for our Northstar Access yard inToronto, ON. Our drivers are responsible for the safe delivery of scaffold gear to project and/or rental customer sites. Responsibilities will include the correct loading and unloading (often manually) of gear off the vehicle, recording of delivery information, and ensuring load safety. The driver will always be expected to operate their delivery vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road, and follow all appropriate company policies and procedures. Past experience operating a Moffett truck is considered an asset, however, training will be provided.

Driver Responsibilities:

Operate flatbed vehicle to pick up and deliver scaffolding gear and equipment

Manual loading and unloading required frequent lifting up to 50lbs occasional lifting up to 100lbs
Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle
Deliver gear and equipment over established routes in a timely manner
Ensure correct loading of vehicle and safety strapping/fastening of gear and equipment
Operate vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road
Comply with all company policies and procedures regarding the delivery of goods
Record information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems encountered
Communicate with main office dispatch
Manual loading and unloading of gear and equipment in a safe manner, using provided tools as appropriate (e.g. dollies, lifts, etc.)
Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
Maintain logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations.
Communicate effectively with the E&D crews, customers, and co-workers
Perform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure
Provide feedback to supervision regarding customer or crew problems, mechanical problems, or delivery problems
Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift. May include, but not limited to, daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, hours of service, etc.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

DZ license

Experience operating a flatbed truck

Experience operating a Moffett truck an asset

High school education or GED

Must be able to provide a clean drivers' abstract

Commercial driving/delivery experience
Able to communicate both verbally and in writing
Frequent lifting up to 50lbs occasional lifting up to 100lbs
Strong interpersonal skills
High level of customer service commitment
Able to work efficiently as part of a team, as well as independently
Organized and attention to detail
Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations
Must be able to work Full-time with minimal supervision; must be self-directed

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments where temperatures will range throughout the various seasons with exposure to cold and hot temperatures
Constant use of arms and hands to reach for, handle, carry, and manipulate objects up to 50lbs and occasionally up to 100lbs
Standing, walking, kneeling, crawling, crouching occurs frequently
