Description

At CI, we see a great place to work as one that is a safe place for everyone to have a voice, where people are empowered to take ownership over meaningful work, where there is an opportunity to grow through stretching themselves, where they can work on innovative products and projects, and where employees are supported and engaged in doing so. We're redefining how AI, data, and automation drive next-generation financial solutions. We believe in creating a workplace where every voice is heard, innovation is encouraged, and bold thinking is celebrated. As we scale our AI strategy, we're looking for a visionary Director of AI/ML Solutions to join the Data, AI & Analytics team (DNA) and lead transformative initiatives using cutting-edge artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques, including generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and intelligent automation across CI Global Asset Management. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: AI Strategy & Innovation
  • Lead CI's AI/ML vision by designing, executing, and scaling enterprise AI initiatives, including GenAI and LLM-driven solutions.
  • Work closely with business leaders to uncover high-impact opportunities where AI can accelerate value creation and operational excellence.
  • Champion responsible AI practices, ensuring solutions align with ethical standards, privacy regulations, and business objectives.
Solution Development & Deployment
  • Oversee full-lifecycle development of AI/ML products—from ideation and prototyping to model deployment and ongoing optimization.
  • Design and deploy AI-powered applications using LLMs and rapid prototyping tools like Streamlit, enabling scalable, interactive solutions for business users and stakeholders.
  • Drive implementation of advanced AI/ML capabilities, including NLP/NLU, recommendation engines, predictive modeling, and AI-powered decision systems.
  • Collaborate with data engineering to build robust ML pipelines and production-grade solutions on cloud-native infrastructure (AWS, Snowflake).
Team Leadership & Culture
  • Lead and grow a high-performing team of data scientists and ML engineers, cultivating a culture of experimentation, learning, and excellence.
  • Mentor team members through technical guidance, career development, and performance coaching.
  • Set clear objectives and measurable outcomes, aligning team goals with enterprise strategy.
R&D and Emerging Tech
  • Stay at the forefront of the AI landscape, evaluating emerging technologies such as foundation models, vector databases, MLOps platforms, and multi-modal AI.
  • Lead research and pilot initiatives to explore novel AI use cases (e.g., autonomous agents, AI copilots, GenAI-powered workflows).
Monitoring, Optimization & Governance
  • Define KPIs and implement monitoring tools to ensure model performance, scalability, and business impact.
  • Implement robust A/B testing, drift detection, and continuous learning processes for deployed models.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to integrate AI governance and risk frameworks into the model lifecycle.
Qualifications: Education
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related technical field—or equivalent practical experience in applied AI.
Experience
  • 8+ years in AI/ML, with 5+ years in a leadership role delivering AI/ML solutions in complex business environments including 1+ years in deploying Gen AI based solutions.
  • Proven success delivering end-to-end ML pipelines and deploying models at scale in production.
  • Expertise in supervised and unsupervised learning, deep learning, NLP, GenAI, and MLOps.
Skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to bridge technical depth and business outcomes.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Passion for fostering innovation in a high-trust, high-impact environment.
  • Proficient with Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, and modern ML stack.
  • Experience developing and deploying models on cloud platforms like AWS, Snowflake.
