ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
As an Indigenous Engagement Representative, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Develop successful relationships through meaningful engagement with indigenous communities
- Liaise with clients in developing procurement strategies for engaging Indigenous suppliers and subcontractors, and labour force
- Create long-term Indigenous partnerships and identify, recommend, and lead opportunities for strategic alliances
- Lead business development opportunities with Indigenous businesses and communities.
- Advise clients on strategic Indigenous engagement and facilitate consultation for projects
- Negotiate Agreements with communities on behalf of clients
- Responsible for Indigenous consultation and tracking and reporting on consultations
- Develop Indigenous Policy and Standards
- Promote awareness of our corporate social responsibility to our employees and coordinate wide cultural awareness training opportunities in collaboration with the HR team
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and team safety by closely following company safety policies, standards, and procedures
- Assist with other responsibilities as needed to contribute to the overall success of the team
What Were Looking for On Your Resume:
- Post-Secondary degree is preferred but not required
- Direct experience related to Indigenous relationships, agreements, consultation, and business development
- Experience and comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks across jurisdictions for First Nations and Metis Consultation
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and communities from a historical and current perspective
- Demonstration of strong cultural business awareness working with Indigenous communities and the ability to collaborate effectively with community leaders to build lasting relationships
