ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As an Indigenous Engagement Representative, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Develop successful relationships through meaningful engagement with indigenous communities
• Liaise with clients in developing procurement strategies for engaging Indigenous suppliers and subcontractors, and labour force
• Create long-term Indigenous partnerships and identify, recommend, and lead opportunities for strategic alliances
• Lead business development opportunities with Indigenous businesses and communities.
• Advise clients on strategic Indigenous engagement and facilitate consultation for projects
• Negotiate Agreements with communities on behalf of clients
• Responsible for Indigenous consultation and tracking and reporting on consultations
• Develop Indigenous Policy and Standards
• Promote awareness of our corporate social responsibility to our employees and coordinate wide cultural awareness training opportunities in collaboration with the HR team
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to personal and team safety by closely following company safety policies, standards, and procedures
• Assist with other responsibilities as needed to contribute to the overall success of the team

What Were Looking for On Your Resume:

• Post-Secondary degree is preferred but not required
• Direct experience related to Indigenous relationships, agreements, consultation, and business development
• Experience and comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks across jurisdictions for First Nations and Metis Consultation
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures and communities from a historical and current perspective
• Demonstration of strong cultural business awareness working with Indigenous communities and the ability to collaborate effectively with community leaders to build lasting relationships
