Are you ready to contribute to a healthcare legacy that makes a difference?THE OPPORTUNITY 2 North is the Medical Surgical floor of GBGH, featuring 35 full beds and 2 overflow spaces. The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) will collaborate with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding patient care to a diverse range of patients recovering from surgical procedures and managing various medical conditions with dedication and expertise. From post-operative recovery to the management of acute medical conditions, the 2 North Medical Surgical floor is equipped to handle a wide spectrum of cases. Focusing on holistic healing, the RN will strive to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients throughout their journey. As a valued member of the crew, the RN's role is essential in upholding the high standards of care that define our 2 North Medical Surgical floor. Together, we create an environment where health, compassion, and professionalism converge to positively impact the lives of those we serve.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEThe ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:
- Graduate of a recognized Registered Practical Nursing Program
- Registered Practical Nurse in good standing
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.) certification
- Completion of Coronary Care 1 Certificate an asset
- Completion of a Medication Administration Course an asset
- Meditech Expanse knowledge considered an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with all patients, physicians, staff, and visitors
- Must have an ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) in the English language in order to provide excellent communication with patients, physicians, staff, and visitors
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Willingness to participate in process improvement
- Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for patients and families as well as other members of the healthcare team within a challenging and exciting health care environment
- Commitment to customer service and teamwork
- Must strive to continuously provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers
- Demonstrated consistent punctuality and attendance record, maintaining a high level of reliability and commitment to performing duties with efficiency and effectiveness in previous roles

- As a partially designated French speaking organization, French verbal and written communication skills are considered an asset in this position
- Hourly rate of pay $37.42 to $38.16, with an additional 14% in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation to start
