Smittys has been a trusted name in home furnishings in Southern Ontario. We value our loyal customer base, as well as our deeply experienced staff, some of whom have been on our team for decades. Our original location was based in Hanover,
Ontario and we are currently operating from two showrooms: Hanover and Kitchener.
Our approach to the market with our primary line of business is by promoting and selling the top furniture and mattress brands manufactured in Canada. Over 80% of our product displayed on the floor is made in Canada. Our logo says it all FOR THE LOVE OF CANADIAN FURNITURE.
About the Position
The Front Desk Reception role is instrumental in fulfilling Smittys vision
to inspire connections and create warmth in every home.
This position supports the team by ensuring every customer who enters the store receives the best possible experience. As a key point of coordination, the Front Desk Reception works closely with sales consultants and managers, greeting customers warmly, answering inquiries in person or by phone, and performing all front desk and data entry routines in a timely and accurate manner.
This position is a part-time position working between 15 and 30 hours per week, including
weekends.

Your primary responsibilities will be:
- Create a pleasant and professional selling atmosphere by answering the phone and greeting the customers courteously, efficiently and professionally
- Co-ordinate with warehouse and shipping to assist with customer pick-ups
- Perform daily reconciliations of all credit card, debit and cash payments in our company POS system
- Provide customers with updates on orders and process payments upon request
- Maintain the flow of in-store customer traffic by monitoring and notifying sales staff accordingly
- Manage incoming email inquiries and live chat inquiries by responding or allocating to sales staff accordingly
Your
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- Completion of high-school and or college certificate or diploma
- 1+ years of experience in a customer service or reception position
- Excellent interpersonal relationship skills,
- Excellent communication (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities
- Basic math and accounting skills
- Proficient using Microsoft Office products
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail
