Position: Quality Assurance Analyst

Job Type: Permanent Full time

Location: 18 Auriga Dr, Ottawa ON

Work Model: Hybrid

Position Summary

As a QA Analyst in our Bahamas Service Delivery group, you will ensure the quality and reliability of software applications through comprehensive testing and analysis. Your responsibilities will include designing, executing, and tracking comprehensive test plans, configuring test environments, analyzing results, and troubleshooting issues. You will contribute to CBN's goals by delivering robust software solutions that meet our customer needs and enhance real-world experiences for residents of the Bahamas.

Responsibilities

Testing and Analysis

  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts.
  • Perform functional, regression, and performance testing.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects.
  • Analyze test results and provide feedback to the development team.

Documentation

  • Create and maintain detailed test documentation.
  • Document test results and provide feedback to the development team.
  • Ensure test documentation is up-to-date and accurate.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with developers, QA team members, and stakeholders.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to project planning.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and testing methodologies.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities.
  • Seek feedback and continuously improve testing skills.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience.

Certification

  • ISTQB Foundation Level certification is an asset.

Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of defect tracking and test management tools.
  • Understanding of performance testing and analysis.
  • Familiarity with Agile (Scrum) methodologies.

Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in software testing or a related role.

Technical Environment

  • Operating Systems: Windows and Linux
  • Languages: Python or Perl
  • Database: PostGreSQL, SQL, Oracle
  • Tracking Tools: JIRA
  • Hardware: Peripheral device drivers
