REAL-R is seeking an experienced, reliable, and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support a law firm's real estate practice. This is a full-time position; however, we are open to part-time arrangements for the right candidate.
The real estate work includes:
Residential and commercial sales and purchases
Refinancing
Construction mortgages
Private transactions
Experience with commercial mortgage transactions is an asset.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of residential and commercial real estate transactions in Alberta from open to close
Prepare, review, and process documents using Unity and SPIN2
Liaise effectively with clients, realtors, lenders, and other parties
Conduct Land Title searches and analyze encumbrances
Draft reporting letters to clients and lenders
Manage a high volume of files and work accurately under time constraints
Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate excellent client service
Perform general administrative, file, and office management duties
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of real estate legal assistant experience in Alberta
Proficient with Unity, SPIN2, Land Titles, MS Office (Word, Outlook), Adobe, and other conveyancing tools
Advanced knowledge of real estate conveyancing procedures and legal terminology
Strong organization, time management, and communication skills
Able to work independently and collaboratively in a small firm
High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and client focus
Experience with e-signature and digital document management preferred
